Licensing Qualifications and Requirements

Once licensing education hours are completed, licensee candidates must pass licensing exams.

Utah General Exams and the national SAFE exam must be registered for online. Click here for step by step information to schedule this exam. The national SAFE exam is currently $92. The Utah exam is currently $69.  Any candidate that fails either the national SAFE or the Utah exam must wait a minimum of 30 days before re-testing.

Once both exams are passed, to qualify for a Mortgage license in the State of Utah, candidates must undergo an extensive background investigation. Each candidate will be finger printed and must answer the screening questions at the time of the state exam. Be sure to answer each question accurately and truthfully.
